The mission of the Network is to cultivate and nurture a sustainable community of ocean literate citizens, enabling seamless collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the effective coordination of marine outreach and ocean literacy endeavours throughout the island.
The IOLN would like to acknowledge the generous support of the Marine Institute/Foras na Mara as Sponsors of the Network.

My Ocean is an all-island initiative inviting you to share your personal connection to the ocean. Whether it is a personal essay, a poem, visual artwork, or a video, we want to hear your story to help us shape a more ocean-literate Ireland.

Our Executive Officer and Project Officer lead the Network, working alongside a Board of Directors and Advisory Panel. Reporting to the Board, we manage daily operations and implement the Strategic Plan (2024–2030).
The Network consists of a broad and diverse range of Members including NGOs, public bodies, research and academia, education, private enterprises, and individuals across the island of Ireland. We provide a neutral space for this diverse community to collaborate, share knowledge, and coordinate their work for greater collective impact.
