My Ocean poem

“What does the Ocean mean to you?”

I wish no stained glass to hear my hymns,
no pews, nor bell or priest.
I shall seek the sea to cleanse my sins,
by the resurrected light of the east.
My gospels are the songs of distant gulls,
the tolling of storm and wave upon stones,
the crumbling ripples above hidden shoals.
And such peace they gift my wearied bones.
