WiseWater Academy is on a mission to (re)connect young people and communities with the ocean. This Member has already seen significant success with its Water and Wellbeing programme, which has been delivered to 20 primary schools across the island of Ireland.
The six-week programme uses interactive workshops to explore water conservation, ocean literacy, and the vital connection between water and human health. The impact of these sessions is being felt well beyond the classroom; teachers report that students and their families are adopting new water-saving practices at home and within their wider school communities.
Water Connects People
Building on this momentum, WiseWater Academy has secured Erasmus funding for a new project, Water Connects People. This initiative brings together youth leaders from across the island of Ireland and Austria to develop a training programme for youth workers. The goal is to empower young people to become active citizens for ocean conservation and sustainable water management.
Join the conversation this October
As part of the Water Connects People project, WiseWater Academy will host a free, in-person conference this October. They would love to welcome Members of the Network, as well as anyone passionate about water and ocean conservation, to join the event.
Further details and registration info will be shared in the coming months. In the meantime, you can learn more about their workshops and mission at wisewater.ie.
