Cruinniú na mBád festival, Kinvara

August 7 @ 8:00 am - August 9 @ 5:00 pm
Cruinniú na mBád festival, Kinvara

Join the Cuan Beo team and events programme at the Cruinniú na mBád festival in Kinvara from the 7th to the 9th of August to celebrate this year’s theme: ”A Living Bay and Connections”.

Together, we’ll celebrate the unique sense of place that defines Galway Bay through its many connections from our heritage, flagship programmes, people, partners and community throughout Catchment 29. Come to visit our marquee which will be positioned at the quay in Kinvara, to:

  • Explore our rich maritime heritage—from the Galway Hooker to our traditional flat-bottomed boat—and discover how seaweed, oysters, clean water, and our coastal communities have connected people and place for generations.
  • Learn how our Reconnecting the Land and Sea projects—including Oyster Restoration, Source to Sea, EcoCredits, Water Quality, and Policy Engagement—are strengthening these connections and helping to create a healthier, more resilient Galway Bay.
  • Meet our agency partners, education partners, volunteers, community groups, oyster farmers, local organisations, and the many supporters of Cuan Beo. Together, we are building lasting connections and a shared vision for a thriving Living Bay.

The events this year cover both Land and Sea.

  • Friday 7, 2 – 5.30pm: Visit the ARC on Tracht  Beach and Biodiversity Ireland ‘Explore your Shore’ walk with a focus on seaweed.
  • Saturday & Sunday 8 & 9,11.30am/12 – 5.30pm: Cuan Beo showcase stalls, talks and cookery events on Kinvara Quay.
