Member Event: Coastwatch – Annual Citizen Science Shore Survey

Coastwatch would love you to participate in their Annual Citizen Science Shore Survey and help generate a snapshot picture of our shores in autumn 2026.  Just book 500m of shore and check it out once around low tide by Oct. 15th and report back by Oct 22nd.

This coming weekend and Monday we will have super low tides, so you could get a rare glimpse into marine life spots you would not see without a snorkel normally.

All information here, posters with QR code here.

A series of joint and training events are planned this week including Lough Foyle cross border surveying starting in Derry/Londonderry on Sat. 10th October.
For those who would like to participate there or elsewhere,  please check out www.coastwatch.org or contact survey@coastwatch.org.

This started as an All-Ireland project with The Irish Times in 1987. There have been ongoing innovations and significant wins in follow up actions. One priority is community seagrass protection.
